Korean technology giant Samsung

which are likely to be launched in India on
September 25.

Samsung made its entry into wearable
computing device business with the launch
of Galaxy Gear that will notify users and
give them quick previews of incoming texts,
e-mails and more coming from Galaxy Note
3, the latest phone in Note series.

While the company has priced smartwatch
at $299, the price of
Note 3 could not be immediately known.
The earlier version of the smart phone,
Galaxy Note 2, is available for around N47,000

"We will be launching Note 3 and Gear in
149 countries on September 25. In the US
and Japan we will launch it in October,"
Samsung Electronics' Marketing manager
David Park said here yesterday.

A company official, who did not wished to
be named, said the devices will be launched
in India at the same time.
The latest Note smart phone has slightly
bigger 5.7 inch screen but is thinner and
lighter than its previous version and comes
with multiple new features.

The Gear will be initially compatible with
Galaxy Note 3 and tablet Galaxy Tab 10.1,
which was also launched here.
"Samsung Galaxy Note 3 delivers a larger
and better screen for the best viewing
experience and more powerful
multitasking, and introduces significant S

CEO and President of IT and Mobile
Division, J.K. Shin said.
"Both the Note 3 and Gear complement
each other," Mr. Shin added.
Samsung incorporated a 13 megapixel rear
camera in its Note series product.
With this device Samsung has also
attempted to grab pie in business from
enterprises.

The company has incorporated Samsung
Knox option in the phone which users can
activate to run and store security-sensitive
applications and data inside a protected
folder, named 'container' by Samsung.
"The security inside the container is
strengthened by system-level protection of
Samsung KNOX against malware and
phishing attacks as well as hacking
attempts on physical devices when devices
are stolen or lost...users may choose to
store enterprise applications and data such
as corporate email, contacts and calendar,"
Samsung said.
The Galaxy Note 3 has feature that will
allow users to disable the phone when it is
stolen or lost as well as remotely track or
erase the data from lost phones.
Samsung will also provide accessories with
cover designs for Note 3.
The smart phone will come in three basic
colours -- Black, white and Pink, the cover
design would range from colours like
magenta plum to orange to coffee beans
among others.
Galaxy Note 3 will be available in 32GB or
64GB internal storage along with an
additional microSD card slot option.
